Why has Continental started the SeniorProfessional program?
Continental has started the SeniorProfessional program to leverage the valuable knowledge and experience of retired employees. These experts bring decades of know-how with them, which is particularly important in times when many experienced employees retire in a short time. Due to demographic changes and the shortage of skilled workers as well as the changed work-life balance behavior of the younger generations, the program helps to optimally close short-term gaps. At the same time, younger employees benefit from the collaboration and exchange with the experienced SeniorProfessionals, which creates an ideal environment for innovation and learning.
What will my role as a senior professional look like?
This depends on the individual case and your skills, knowledge and experience as well as your preferences. It is possible, for example, to work in a project as a project member or even as a project manager. It yould also be an option for you to work as a substitute in your old or a comparable function.
Do I already commit to an assignment by filling out the registration form for the SeniorProfessionals pool?
No. Your deployment as SeniorProfessional is based on the principle of double voluntariness. You do not make a commitment until you receive and accept an offer.
How exactly does the placement work?
A placement process begins with a request from a department in which the professional and personal requirements for the future job holder are determined. Based on these requirements, we search for the most suitable candidates in our pool. From these, we create an anonymized shortlist, which we forward to the searching department. They check the list and give us a selection of the candidates with whom they would like to work on the specific task. We then contact the relevant SeniorProfessionals in order and clarify a possible assignment in terms of period, duration, location, etc.
Once we have found a suitable match, we establish contact between the department and the SeniorProfessional. If both come to an agreement, the employment will be made by ContiMotion GmbH and the SeniorProfessional will start the employment at the place of assignment at the agreed time. Otherwise, we repeat the process with the next candidate on the list.
